Portarlington Enterprise Centre awarded grant of €89,445

Portarlington Enterprise Centre has been granted €89,445 from the Town and Village Renewal Scheme. Well done to Mary Keogh, Centre Manager, Anne Goodwin from Laois Partnership, and all who put the application together.

In total 12 Laois areas have benefited – with projects in Ballyroan, Camross, Castletown, Emo, Errill, Killenard, Mountmellick, Mountrath, Portarlington, Raheen, Ratheniska and Stradbally all succesful with their funding applications.

The 2017 Town and Village Renewal Scheme, which was launched in April this year, focuses on projects which can help to enhance and develop rural towns and villages, with a particular emphasis on stimulating economic development.

Announcing the successful applicants today in Granard, Co. Longford, Minister Ring said: “The Town and Village Renewal Scheme is an important part of my Department’s work to rejuvenate and revitalise rural Ireland and should have a significant impact on towns and villages across the country.
