Some water disruption and traffic delays are likely in Portarlington as work is set to begin to replace a stretch of burst prone old water mains.
Irish Water, working in partnership with Laois County Council, is beginning work on Monday, 22 January to replace 162 metres of mains at Rosecourt in the Laois Offaly town.
It is expected the work in Rosecourt will take six weeks to complete. The works may involve some short-term water shut offs. Irish Water says the project team will ensure that customers are given a minimum of 48 hours prior notice of any planned water shut offs.
There are likely to be some traffic delays but a traffic management system will be in place for the duration of the works. Local and emergency traffic will be maintained at all times.
