Philip Mulpeter the successful Portarlington MMA fighter fighting out of Coach John Kavanaghs world renowned SBG gym in Dublin had a vision and that was to open his own gym and on Tuesday Feb. 13th  SBG Portarlington celebrate their first year in business and what a year it has been for Mulpeter and SBG Portarlington.

Mulpeter says the goal was to bring something different to Portarlington, to try and bring a world class SBG family martial arts centre to the town.

In their first year they have had people through their doors ranging from 3 year old’s ( Micro Monekys programme for children) to 60 yrs plus and they have helped so many people achieve their goals, be it weight loss, gain confidence, learn a martial art, self defence or bring them from zero experience to competition level. These are all huge achievements for the club.

They have also been extremely successful in competitions with numerous medals being won in bjj competitions and an Irish Amateur MMA Title ( Stuart Mulpeter Cage Legacy Fighting Championship Middleweight Champion) and Mulpeter himself who in December won the Budo European Welterweight Title in MMA, with both belts  hanging proudly on their walls.

Well done to all in SBG Portarlington on all your success.
