The Portarlington After Schools Project

Portarlington After Schools Project has been in operation since 2002 and has been highly successful. Since then approximately 350 children have availed of our programme. Portarlington Afterschools Project is committed to developing a curriculum which creates a child-centred, play-based environment, which empowers young children to actively pursue their own learning. We will strive to provide a programme of activities, which encourage the physical, social, emotional, intellectual, creative and language development of the children who attend. The programme has played an important part in broadening the child/children education/development. The project is run by caring and qualified staff that ensure each activity is carefully supervised to a high standard. We aim to provide children with activities that are fun, creative, educational, musical and social. Each child is encouraged to have full involvement with the emphasis on participation.
Our equipment is child friendly and safety and care is given top priority. This programme is available to all children in the community. It welcomes children between the ages of 5 and 12 years.
The children receive a snack provided by the club on arrival from school and homework is given priority for the first hour.
